Meet the Musician Mondays - Stephanie Ruddy

Happy Monday! This means it's time to meet another musician!

Violinist Stephanie Michele Ruddy joined the CSO in 2022. Her 30-year journey with the violin began as an act of rebellion, choosing classical music over her father's electric bass. Growing up in Florida, she discovered the violin in fifth grade through the public school system.

Currently pursuing a graduate performance major at the University of Hartford, her musical endeavors include being a full-time member in the Connecticut Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra and the New Britain Symphony Orchestra. She has also performed as a freelance/substitute in orchestras such as the Nutmeg Symphony, Torrington Symphony, and the Hartford Symphony. Stephanie is also a dedicated educator, sharing the joy of music through Suzuki method lessons in her home studio.

Stephanie is a resident of the historic district of Litchfield, CT, where she resides with her husband and two children, aged 8 and 9, and 3 lovable dogs where she maintains a large vegetable garden!
