Meet the Musician Mondays - Tony Daise

Meet Tony Daise, he is in the CSO student fellowship program. Catch Tony and the rest of the CSO performing in our upcoming concert, "Symphonic Serenades," on Feb. 4 at 3 PM. Enjoy an afternoon of beautiful serenades and symphonies by Mozart, Beethoven, and Tchaikovsky.

Tony Daise enjoys a busy performance schedule performing regularly as a chamber and orchestral musician as well as maintaining a private teaching studio. As a chamber performer, he has had the opportunity to perform in venues such as Jorgen Center for the Performing Arts, Leith Griffith Recital Hall, with amazing musicians including Ivan Stefanovic, Luigi Polacari and Olavina Yang respectively. Additionally, he has participated in masterclasses at Von Der Mehden Recital Hall, the Peabody Conservatory, and Marjorie Goodhart Hall, among others. As an orchestral musician, he is currently serving as the Principal Second Violin of the University Connecticut Symphony Orchestra, and has been awarded a Violin Fellowship with the Connecticut Symphony Orchestra for the 2023 - 2024 season. Tony is the Artistic Director of the Umoja Music Collective: a chamber music concert series dedicated to performing works by underrepresented composers in unique concert spaces to promote diversity. In addition to performing, teaching is something very crucial to Tony’s over the years. He aims to introduce his students to looking at music through an international lens, striving to ignite curiosity, passion, and mindful playing for students of all ages, with the goal of fostering a deeper connection to the art of the violin. Tony is an alumni of the Peabody Conservatory’s Pre - College program where he was a recipient of the Tuned In scholarship and student of Dr. Renate Falkner. Currently, Tony is pursuing a BM in Violin Performance at University of Connecticut under the tutelage of Dr. Solomiya Ivakhiv. When he is not practicing, Tony enjoys reading, playing chess, and learning new languages.
