Dark Adventures

Mark your calendars, our first concert of the 23-24 season will be on November 4, 2023 at 7 PM. Featuring 2 very spooky themed masterpieces - Mozart’s Magic Flute “Queen of the night aria” and Berlioz Symphonie Fantastique.

Spooky theme #1: You will definitely recognize the famous, technically demanding coloratura soprano passage set in a bright F major key that juxtaposes with the Queen's vengeful and malevolent intentions. The rapid-fire ornamentations and dazzling vocal acrobatics, while showcasing the singer's virtuosity, also serve to depict the Queen's manipulative and sinister nature.

Spooky theme #2: From the grim procession of the "March to the Scaffold" to the otherworldly "Dream of a Witches' Sabbath," Symphonie Fantastique weaves a captivating tale of supernatural intrigue, where reality blurs with illusion, and the haunting dance of ghouls and witches comes alive in a mesmerizing symphonic portrayal of the spooky and uncanny.
