🎶 Meet the Musician Monday: Gwendolyn Winkel 🎶

Meet Gwendolyn Winkel, our talented Principal clarinetist since 1991! Her musical journey began when she received a recorder as a Christmas gift at the age of 10. Her admiration for Harold Wright, the principal clarinetist of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, fueled her passion for the clarinet. She also plays in the Farmington Valley Symphony, Beth El Temple Symphony Orchestra, the Noteworthy Trio, and the Resonant Winds Quintet.

Beyond music, Gwen is a globetrotter, having visited 80 countries, a Duolingo fanatic, and loves swimming, hiking, and yoga.

Fun Fact: Her great-great-great grandfather was Friedrich von Flotow, the composer of "Martha."
